Amy Chambers

Amy chambers

Manager & fitness teacher - Vassiliki

Amy joined us in 2011 for the fitness side of the Healthy Options programme and has never looked back, becoming Manager in 2013. Amy grew up in Cyprus; it was there that her love of water sports and triathlons began. During university, she competed in the British Triathlon Championships and then went on to teach water sports.

Amy has taught kite-surfing, windsurfing, and diving in various locations around the world. Throughout this time, her love of all things fitness-orientated has continued to grow; she is a Personal Trainer, spinning and circuits instructor and holds various swimming and aqua qualifications.

Throughout this season, Amy will be teaching Body Sculpt, Swiss Ball, run circuits, Hydro Fit and swim technique classes. If that’s not enough to get your heart rate going, Amy will also be available to give those who are interested some beginner windsurfing tuition or 1-1 swimming lessons.

Amy has a wonderfully fun and realistic approach to fitness and loves teaching at all levels. But don’t worry, she won’t be enrolling anyone in a boot camp, after all, our philosophy of doing as little or as much as you like always applies!

Alexia Dranidi

Manager and yoga teacher - Syvota

After many years of practising yoga and developing a profound interest in alternative therapies and the numerous physical and psychological benefits of yoga, Alexia pursued her aspirations and qualified as a 200hr Yoga Alliance teacher and as a therapeutic Thai massage therapist. She is a firm believer that rediscovering that connection between the body and the mind is the key to overcoming any obstacle in life and living it to its full potential.

Her teaching style is a personal mix of Hatha yoga and Vinyasa techniques, aimed at empowering individuality whilst synchronizing breath awareness with correct posture alignment in order to create a harmonious flow of movement and a stillness of the mind. She also teaches Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra and meditation and her Thai massage incorporates elements from yoga, meditation and breath awareness so as to release tension and truly experience a deep state of relaxation. Alexia has recently completed her Qi Gong training and is looking forward to sharing her new found skills with you!

Alexia feels she is honoured to have the privilege of sharing with her students what she has learnt and to help them realize a deeper awareness and connection to themselves and the world around them. Her classes are a celebration of life and an opportunity to love, breath, live, laugh and shine both on and off the mat! Let your breath inspire you!

Joanna Jeczalik

Yoga Teacher - Syvota

Joanna has studied yoga for over 20 years, and teaches in Oxford and London.

She qualified with the Life Centre in London, and has the British Wheel of Yoga Accredited Teaching Diploma

Joanna teaches hatha yoga in a gentle, flowing style, which is accessible and nourishing. Her classes combine yoga poses, breathing, meditation and yoga nidra for a relaxing and rejuvenating practice.

She has qualified with the Oxford Mindfulness Centre and integrates mindfulness techniques into her yoga classes.

Joanna also does the holistic style of massage called 'Raynor' which is deeply relaxing concentrating on the main anchor points of the body – the head, hands and feet.

She is particularly interested in the benefits of yoga for chronic fatigue, stress, anxiety and depression, and is currently writing a book on 'Yoga for Chronic Fatigue'.

Olympia Tsarouchi

Yoga Teacher - Vassiliki

Olympia is a 500ERYT qualified Yoga teacher and massage therapist who has taught classes, workshops and teacher trainings in the UK, Greece and Thailand. She joined the Healthy Options team in 2016.
Olympia is multi-facetted and explored many different disciplines in her life: from a Law degree, to professional music, Brazilian Ju Jitsu and other sports. “But Yoga was where everything fell together,” she says. Olympia teaches Anahata Yoga which is a style of Hatha Yoga that combines a dynamic, flowing style of asana practice, called the Dance of Shiva & Shakti, pranayama and meditation. 'I love to see people, having fun in my classes, learning new things about their practice and leaving the class feeling relaxed and invigorated'.
Olympia also teaches Vinyasa Flow classes, the Five Element Form, Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra.
As a teacher I aspire to share my experience and knowledge with the group, coming from a space of love and care for the participants. I like to keep my yoga classes informational but light hearted and fun. Sometimes we take yoga too seriously, there is no need to.
Olympia has a special interest in body work, the biomechanics of movement and anatomy, which motivated her to study massage therapies. She is qualified in Swedish Massage, Myofascial Manipulation, Ayurvedic Massage and Thai Massage.

Olympia Tsarouchi will be available from 1st June to 4th October

Lynne Gentle

Pilates and Yamuna Body Rolling - Vassiliki

Lynne has been practicing Pilates since 1996, when she loved how it restored her lost power following childbirth. At the time she had a successful career in London but her epiphany came and she began to train as a Pilates teacher on the side of her regular job. She set up her Harley Street practice ‘Gentle Movement Clinic’ in 2010, and has since been teaching people to treat themselves.

She describes herself as a Manual and Movement therapist and has been helping people to feel good, teaching them to get rid of aches and pains, and restore natural, balanced posture. Her work is not exercise, but movement, and is a firm believer that if you move well, you move often.

At Healthy Options, Lynne will be leading special Yamuna Body Rolling taster sessions, a cross between foam rolling and rolling on a tennis ball, working to realign the body, self massage, and give you a workout all in one.

Lynne Gentle will be available from 12th July to 16th August

Kirstie Steadman

Pilates & Fitness - Vassiliki

Kirstie's passion for fitness began when she was young. She was always busy at dance classes and loved performing on stage. She started going to exercise classes and eventually did her Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification. She started to teach Stretch & Tone, Swiss Ball and Ab group classes at her local gym and had done lots of Pilates Mat classes and enjoyed them so much that she decided to train to become a teacher. Kirstie qualified as a CYQ Level 3 Pilates Advanced Matwork Instructor and knew that she had found her dream career. She went on to complete her Pilates Equipment training and went to a Pilates convention in Windsor and fell in love with the Classical Pilates repertoire and went to train in this method at the Everybody Pilates Studio in Portsmouth.
As well as teaching Pilates, Kirstie teaches Aerial Circus skills at her local Circus centre, teaching Aerial Rope, Silks, Trapeze and Hoop.
'I enjoy working with all types of bodies but especially sports people, dancers and active bodies. I am in awe of how the Pilates method changes people’s bodies to become taller, stronger, more flexible and improves their posture and movement. It is such an achievement to see clients benefit and change their bodies through Pilates'

Yoga Instructor - Vassiliki

Alex is an RYT600 qualified Yoga Instructor and Reflexologist.

Following successful careers as a Dancer and then as a TV Executive, she finished her first Yoga Teacher Training in Athens and went on to expand her studies in India, now collating 100s of hours of international teaching experience, including leading on a Yoga Teacher Training Course.

Alex previously went on a Healthy Options holiday as a guest in 2015 and enjoyed it so much she set herself the goal to work for us one day. 2020 will be her 4th season with us and she couldn’t be happier to be back!

Alex’s teaching style is fun and naturally flowing. She combines her knowledge of anatomy and the breath to create a safe space to practice in and give her students the opportunity to explore the mental and the physical aspects of Yoga.

“I enjoy creating a balance of calmness and power when I teach and I allow my dance background to influence my classes in part. I want my students to leave feeling energised and happy!”

Alex’s sessions include emphasis on breath, energy, flow, anatomy, alignment and relaxation; postures which will invigorate the physical and mental being, leaving you with a general sense of change, growth and wellness.

Emma Rigby

Pilates Teacher - Vassiliki

Emma is from London, she studied ballet at the Royal Ballet School, where she learnt a lot about the benefits of Pilates for the rehabilitation of injury and gaining strength and flexibility for perfecting technique. She went on to dance in many classical ballet companies in Scotland, Norway and Madrid before arriving in Paris to dance with Le Moulin Rouge.

Whilst dancing in the Moulin Rouge she used her days to become certified as Basi Pilates instructor on all Pilates equipment, gyrotonic and xtend barre instructor. Emma also works closely with a chiropractor, trying to constantly learn and deepen her knowledge to ensure she can work as safely as she can with her clients. She likes to combine her two worlds, creating classes that flow often to music to allow people to escape and enjoy movement, whilst also working in a way that concentrates on stability and alignment.

Emma can't wait to be spending time this season in magical Vassiliki!

Emma Cocker

Manager & Pilates teacher - Vassiliki

In her previous life Emma was an HR manager at a bank but after two babies found balancing the demands of the job and family too much. Emma has always loved movement in all its forms and when she discovered Pilates it just seemed to make sense. Emma loves the focus on alignment and good movement patterns that can be used in everyday life and in other sports. Body awareness is the biggest gift Emma feels she can give to her clients. She qualified to teach in 2008 and has undertaken specialist training in managing Lower back pain, Bone Health and Pilates for the Older Person amongst many other courses.

Fitness Teacher - Syvota

We are very excited to have Georgie in Syvota this year, a newbie to Healthy Options but certainly not to all things yoga and fitness! Having worked for Neilson as a fitness instructor Georgie is well used to giving her all, making every class as fun and inclusive as she can and generally being a bit of an all rounder. Very into her own fitness, favourites being cycling and dance, Georgie will also be on hand for all things SUP related, so make sure you get out on the water with her! Georgie will be teaching a variety of fitness classes including Swiss Ball, Ballet/barre classes and guided bike rides.

Kat Leach

Pilates Teacher - Syvota

Hi, my name is Kat, I have been teaching Pilates since 2012. I started Pilates as a hobby, following a high speed collision car crash which left me with multiple injuries and broken bones, I felt the benefits of Pilates almost immediately, really helping to ease my painful back and pelvis. I loved attending the Pilates classes so much that I decided to train as an instructor with the Pilates Foundation and have never looked back!

I love sharing the Pilates knowledge and helping others. I feel so blessed to have a job that I enjoy so much.

When I’m not teaching Pilates I love travelling and going on holidays, I’ve lived in Barcelona and Sydney, I’ve also travelled around Thailand and Guatemala on my own and visited Italy, Spain, Cyprus, Mexico and France alone too!

I also practice Reiki and have a keen interest in natural therapies.

I have a cat called Lollipop and a dog called Eddy, they are my world!

Nansi Marshall

Yoga Teacher - Syvota

Hello!  I’m Nansi and I’ve been practicing yoga for the last 5 years, starting my very own journey at Healthy Options! My particular style of yoga is Vinyasa Flow and I like to focus on creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere in my classes. I gained my teacher training with Trimurti Yoga in Goa and I am certified with Yoga Alliance. My love for yoga and all things wellness continues to grow daily, I also have a fascination with reflexology and holistic therapies. My classes aim to connect the mind, body and breath, I like to encourage people to challenge themselves while supporting their every step. Yoga most certainly changed my life and I wish to continue sharing the wonder of it with others!

Molly Melhuish

Pilates Teacher - Syvota

Molly has 25 years experience teaching yoga and Pilates and practising massage. She is a qualified teacher trainer and runs her own little studio in Cardiff.  She currently specialises in Pilates, Yin Yoga and Bodybalance. Molly offers Thai Foot massage, Chinese Cupping therapy and Balinese warm bamboo massage. Molly presents regularly at conventions and has appeared in a number of  publications including Om Yoga Magazine and The Guardian. She has also presented for BBC Radio Wales' Raise Your Game.
